The Japanese Association at the University of Texas at Austin will present its 8th annual Golden Week Festival!
Date: Friday, April 19
Time: 7-9:30 p.m.
Location: Gregory Gym Plaza
Admission for the festival is free, and tickets may be purchased to enjoy various Japanese food. The menu includes:
- Okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake)
- Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles)
- Kara-age (marinated, fried chicken)
- Gyoza (fried dumplings)
Come to the festival and learn more about Japanese culture by watching these amazing performances! This semester, Austin Taiko will perform. Taiko is a type of heavy, traditional Japanese drum, and the performance combines hard-hitting dynamic percussion rhythms and energetic choreographed movements. Other performers include UT Karate, UT Judo, and the traditional dance group, Tsubomi.
The festival will also have game booths where participants will receive tickets to enter into a raffle. Stop by for a night of wonderful Japanese food and performances, and bring a friend!

The Japanese Association at the University of Texas at Austin (JA) is founded on the principle of learning and spreading the awareness of Japanese culture. JA provides opportunities for students on campus interested in Japanese culture to interact through various social activities and events.
