Staff members in ISSS are excited to welcome 11 university administrators from Germany for a week-long Fulbright Seminar, Sept. 19 – 26. The seminar, sponsored by the German Fulbright Commission, is part of an ongoing cultural exchange and professional development program between Germany and the United States for student services administrators. ISSS is happy to continue its partnership with the Commission and looks forward to hosting another German Fulbright group in April.
While visiting UT Austin, the Germans will learn about higher education, career services, and alumni engagement in the United States and meet many professionals across the university. The goal of the seminar is to promote cultural exchange and increase knowledge of U.S. higher education, provide key insights into best practices related to the design and coordination of career service centers, and to present strategies used to approach fundraising and alumni engagement. The Germans also can be sure they won’t leave Texas without a taste of some good BBQ!
