On the first Wednesday of every month, international faculty and research scholars from across the UT Austin campus and from around the world gather for socializing, food and drinks at Scholar Social Hour. During the most recent Scholar Social Hour in December, scholars who attended took the time to share their thoughts and experiences:
“I think the monthly Scholar Social Hour is a great opportunity to share our experience with other international students, and sometimes it is possible to make very good friends. In my case, I met here my current roommate, who is the best friend that I have made here in U.S.”

Jakob Holm“I attended the Social Hour twice. Apart from the great food (the pizza is yummy, measured by American standards). Every time I met nice people, the atmosphere was warm and friendly. ISSS staff is a fun bunch to hang out with. I highly recommend this event to every scholar!”
