The STEM extension deadline was for February 12, 2016. Was a decision made yet?
There has not been a final decision made on this case. However, on January 23, 2016, the District Court gave Department of Homeland Security an extension to appropriately implement the STEM extension. Now DHS has a new deadline of May 10, 2016 to make a final decision and any changes to the STEM program. To review a discussion of proposed changes, please check out our previous post about the STEM OPT court case.
What does this mean?
Students who are still eligible to apply for STEM extensions can continue to apply until May 10, 2016 or until the District Court makes a final ruling.
For students interested in applying for the STEM extension, they should review our current process for the STEM extension found on the ISSS website.
As further updates occur, our office will notify students accordingly.
