Did you know the majority of international visitors coming to the U.S. rarely step inside an American’s home? The Friendship Program is a way to bring international visitors studying or researching at UT more connected to the Austin community and American culture. The International Office will pair you with a local individual or family if you’re an international student or scholar and if you’re applying as a local individual or family you will be paired with one or more international student(s) or scholar(s).
The Friendship Program consists of planning monthly “hang-outs” or activities with your match. You are welcome to meet with your match more often if you wish, but no less than once a month! The International Office will also provide a few events throughout the semester including the Fall Kick-Off Party, where you will meet your match for the first time.
