Tuesday, November 7, 2017, is the last day an undergraduate student may withdraw from the University or drop a class. It is also the last day undergraduate and graduate students may change registration for a class to a pass/fail basis. If you are thinking about dropping a class or withdrawing from the university, do not forget about the impact it could have on your immigration status.
All F-1 and J-1 students must be enrolled full-time to maintain a valid immigration status each fall and spring semester. For immigration purposes, undergraduates must be enrolled for 12 credit hours and graduate students must be enrolled for 9 credit hours where only one class, up to three hours can be online or web-based. The only exception to being enrolled full-time applies when students are enrolled in their graduating semester and/or have been approved for a Reduced Course Load. If you would like to drop below full-time or withdraw during the fall or spring semester, you must obtain permission from an International Student Advisor FIRST!
