With the semester coming to a close, in addition to finishing all academic requirements, international students have many administrative matters to complete before the end of the year. Some of you need to extend your immigration documents to continue your program at UT, while others may need an authorization for an internship next semester. The International Office is always thinking of how to provide services to you in a way that will allow flexibility and convenience with your busy academic career. As of November 15th, international students now have the option of online submission for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and I-20/DS-2019 Extension processing. This way you will not have to come to our office to receive these services if you choose not to. If you do want to meet with an advisor to assist you with any of these, we are happy to see you in person as well. Students will continue to be able to receive these services during an advising appointment with an international student advisor, or may come in for an advising appointment to ask questions in preparation for an online submission.
Simply go to our website and the page for the appropriate service, review and prepare the documents needed for each service, and make your submission(s). We will then review and process your documents within five business days of their receipt. While the online applications will be open over winter break, we will only respond to submitted inquiries while the office is open. If would like same day processing for an extension or need to begin your CPT assignment prior to the five business days after submission, we are still happy to meet with you during an advising appointment where we can assist you in person.
We hope that you will find using these new services convenient and look forward to receiving your documents.
