Did you know all international students & scholars are required to file a U.S. federal tax return? If you were in the U.S. for any part of 2019, then you will need to file a U.S. return even if you did not receive money from a scholarship/fellowship or employment.
To help UT students and scholars meet this requirement, the International Student & Scholars Support Services is hosting a tax information session. We will briefly cover the following topics:
- What is a U.S. Federal Tax Return?
- What is your tax filing obligations?
- When and how to file a U.S. Federal Tax Return
- Tax treaties
- Dependents and taxes
- and more!
We are here to help, so please join us for the session Wednesday, 30 October 2019 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Avaya Auditorium (POB 2.302). For additional questions please email intltax@austin.utexas.edu
