International Student Barometer (ISB) Survey Open Through Dec. 16
Studying away from home can be an experience that’s as challenging as it is rewarding.
At International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), we care about the experiences of our international students. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that for the third year in a row, The University of Texas at Austin is participating in the International Student Barometer (ISB).
The ISB is a survey that tracks and compares the decision-making, expectations, and perceptions of international students from application to graduation. The resulting data enables us to know what you think about your experience at UT Austin, including (but not limited to):
- Your arrival and orientation experience
- What you think about the quality of your education
- Your experience with accommodations
- The connections you have made
- The communities you are a part of
Some of our students who participated in the 2021 ISB said the following about their UT experience:
“The support services are abundant and are offered in a wide variety. I enjoyed how I get to access different support services that always manage to satisfy my needs.”
“Though I spent a whole year online, the quality of learning at UT Austin was phenomenal!”
“I am happy with the quality of life in Austin, which is a beautiful city with many good places.”
“It was a great experience to live so close with students in a vivid city like Austin.”
“I love the community and the city.”
“Love the Texas union.”
Students worldwide are being asked to complete the ISB survey, and we urge you to add yours that collective voice.
Complete the ISB Survey Today!
On Tuesday, November 8, international students received a link to complete the ISB survey. Please complete the survey by Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, to get the opportunity to enter a prize drawing. If you did not receive your survey link, please email us at intercultural@austin.utexas.edu for assistance.
The results of the survey will help ISSS identify ways to improve the student experience for you and your fellow international Longhorns.

The quality of education is great, although receiving Critical Tace Theory in all of my Social Work courses seems a little too much of that same perspective.
LEBA is a student org that has given me an opportunity to grow and meet people, they are now my family.
