Spring and Summer Scholarships Now Open for 2026

Looking for scholarships for the rest of the academic year? Applications for Spring and Summer 2026 are now open.

Apply by November 1 (11:59 p.m. CDT) via the LASSO portal. Just search “ISSS” or “Texas Global.”

Scholarships Available  

Carlos and Clara Quintanilla Scholarship

  • $5,000 tuition award for the Spring 2026 semester.
  • Preference is given to an undergraduate student enrolled full-time in the Cockrell School of Engineering who has resided in Mexico for at least 10 years prior to enrollment, demonstrates financial need, and intends to return to Mexico for work post-graduation.

Dr. David Nilsson Scholarship

  • $2,000 tuition award for the Spring 2026 semester.
  • Preference is given to an undergraduate student who graduated from a high school in Mexico, demonstrates financial need, academic merit, and intends to return to Mexico after graduating.

Ethel Loving de Diaz Scholarship

  • $4,500 tuition award for the Spring 2026 semester.
  • Preference is given to an undergraduate or graduate student who has resided for a period of time or matriculated from Mexico.

Familia Naranjo Nunnally Scholarship

  • $5,000 tuition award for the Spring 2026 semester.
  • Preference is given to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing any degree program at the University who have demonstrated financial need and matriculated from a high school or university in Costa Rica.
  • Second preference may be given to students who matriculated from a high school or university located in other countries in Central America.

General ISSS Financial Aid

  • $4,000 cash award for Spring 2026 and $2,500 for Summer 2026.
  • Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need.
  • Amounts cannot be consolidated or rearranged for different semesters.
  • Students who have already received the General ISSS Financial Aid scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year do not need to apply again.
  • Option III students are not eligible.

International Education Fee Scholarship (IEFS)

  • $5,000 cash award for the Spring 2026 semester.
  • Preference is given to students who have faced barriers to accessing education in their home country and demonstrate financial need.

SIAWE Scholarship

  • $3,500 cash award for the Spring 2026 semester.
  • Preference is given to either an undergraduate or graduate student who has lived in or matriculated from an institution in Iran, or who is currently or has been the dependent of individuals who have lived in Iran for the majority of their lives, who also demonstrates financial need and academic merit.

Tuition Assistance for Mexican Students (TAMS)

  • This award waives the nonresident portion of a student’s tuition bill. (Students will still have to pay tuition.)
  • Undergraduate and/or graduate students must be both citizens and residents of Mexico and demonstrate financial need.
  • Students who have already received TAMS for the 2025-2026 academic year do not need to apply again.
  • Option III students are not eligible.
  • This scholarship is administered through Texas Global on behalf of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Please note that cash awards are subject to a 14 percent tax. Award notifications will be distributed in December.
